Fraunces was conceived for the very moment a contemporary serif needs to stop apologizing. Phaedra Charles and Flo Tymn drew it for Undercase Type with variable optical sizes, a tooth-baring italic, and the warmth of soft-serif metal type. It is loud, opinionated, and refuses to vanish into body copy. Used at display sizes it edges toward swashbuckle. At reading sizes it stays composed but never quite still.
